Orestes Vilató Live in Los Angeles

"HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM - "IT'S ABOUT TIME" - OUT FEBRUARY 10TH"

(Los Angeles, CA - Tuesday, January 13th 2009) Orestes Vilató, the world's greatest living percussionist and one of the most influential figures in Latin music, will perform in Los Angeles on Wednesday February 4th at The Catalina Bar & Grill, to celebrate the release of IT'S ABOUT TIME (February 10 on RAFCA Records), his first solo album ever.

Orestes will play with the same group of legendary great and talented newcomers who came to play on IT'S ABOUT TIME: Rebecca Mauleon, Justo Almario, Johnny Rodriguez, Carlitos Puerto Jr., Adonis Puentes, James Zavaleta, Ramon Stagnaro, Luis Eric Gonzalez, Sean Billings, Alberto Salas, Rene Camacho, and Joey De Leon.

A founding member of the Fania All Stars, friend and collaborator with the great Cachao, Orestes Vilató has contributed to over 400 albums and numerous films heard and seen by millions, and is a familiar presence in sessions featuring some of the greatest musical legends of our time, from Aretha Franklin to Carlos Santana, from Celia Cruz to Ruben Blades, Johnny Pacheco and so many others..

The Catalina Bar & Grill is located 6725 W. Sunset Boulevard Hollywood, CA. Show starts at 8:00pm.
